Artist Scoop YROCK was launched in 2005 to provide a pop-culture platform for talented teenagers in Hong Kong to express themselves through music composition, performance and digital media. The YROCK programme also aims to assist teens to develop life skills, self-esteem and confidence in a safe and stimulating environment. Since 2005 YROCK has organized fourteen live events at venues such as The Edge, HardRock Café and Hong Kong Cyberport. In addition, members of YROCK have performed at the Kanye West concert with Edison Chen and at various local school functions. YROCK has also produced two original music recordings sold through HMV and Soundbuzz, ten demo music recordings and several videos. All these have received airplay and promotion from local media networks including RTHK Radio 3 and the South China Morning Post. The YROCK website (www.yrock.com.hk) receives as many as 250,000 hits per month. Future plans include the launch of the YROCK Club and Café for teenagers.
