Artist Scoop

Born in Xiamen, China, Hsin Hsiao-hung is currently the erhu principal of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. In 2002 she was an awardee of Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Hong Kong. The Sing Tao Daily has described her as "an outstanding performer of the younger generation". Her achievements were listed in "A Shorter Biography of Who's Who in Modern Music in China" in 2001. In 2002 she gave a highly successful performance with Yo-yo Ma and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in the Hong Kong Arts Festival. Hsin Hsiao-hung has won many major competitions and has recorded more than a dozen CDs.
