In this issue we are pleased to share with you COMMENTS FROM OUR AUDIENCE MEMBERS who attended our "Clock" concert on 22 September 2007 and "Sound the Trumpet" concert on 2 October 2007.
Here are comments from some of the audience members on the Clock concert:
Our entire family was completely overwhelmed by the Clock concert. We felt it was a unique way of introducing children and teenagers to classical music. Playing in an orchestra suddenly became "cool", vibrant and relevant to our teenagers. My fourteen-year-old son is a die-hard rock musician, so this concert was a real revelation for him. He now understands that ALL styles of music are interrelated and he wants to listen to more classical music as a result. Our family would certainly be interested to attend similar events. Both our sons (eighteen and fourteen years old respectively) have also requested to be on the mailing list for the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong!
---------- Mrs. Kindler (Shouson Hill)
The Clock concert was a very interesting and fresh event. It opened a new channel for me to accept both classical and rock styles of music. The performers did a great job.
---------- Miss Wong (Sha Tin)
Congratulations on a very successful concert! Everyone told me how wonderful it was. We all appreciate the effort that was put in for such a meaningful cause.
---------- Ms. Tam (Children's Cancer Foundation)
It was a brilliant night and exceptionally professional.
---------- Mr. & Mrs. D'Arcy (Repulse Bay)
Here are comments from some of the audience members on the Sound the Trumpet concert:
Allen Vizzutti's trumpet skills were unprecedented and beyond imagination. His high notes, lightning-fast lip slurs and long controlled notes were particularly astonishing. Apart from his skilful performance, his humour made the evening so wonderfully entertaining. The CCOHK played such charming and beautiful music. Bach's Brandenburg concerto No. 2 was particularly lively and interesting - in fact the performance was so spectacular that those who did not come do not know what they missed.
---------- Mr. Wong (Tsim Sha Tsui)
Joyful and most entertaining evening with skilled performances by the CCOHK and its principal players. Excellent entertainment for all!
---------- Mr. Goswami (Chung Hom Kok)
I liked the diversity of talents. The music exuded team work, effort towards perfection and uncompromising quality. I particularly liked the energy and precision of the conductor.
---------- Mr. Chin (Prince Edward Road)
Wonderful! Good conductor, very creative and unusual programming, solid performances by orchestra (the Bach concerto was outstanding) and fantastic soloist.
---------- Ms. Doran (Hong Kong Island)
Good (and brave) choice of composers and works. Schnittke, Hertel and Frederick the Great were new and refreshing works for the audience. The mix with Bach's Brandenburg concerto No. 2 was good. Allen Vizzutti the trumpeter was a real showman and mastered his instrument extremely well.
---------- Mr. Chan (Wan Chai)
Allen Vizzutti's technical skills and his sense of humour literally set the stage on fire. His energetic performance was enjoyed by all, including members of the CCOHK who were smiling all the way through! Now it is not everyday that you see an audience laughing and having a "wow" of a time at a chamber music concert.
---------- Mr. Chen (Ho Man Tin)
The performers are professional and showed good team work.
---------- Mr. Tse (Tsuen Wan)
Rarely does one hear such good trumpet music.
---------- Mrs. Lam (Wan Chai)
I felt so refreshed and lightened-up after this concert.
---------- Mr. Wong (Happy Valley)
Congratulations to these friends, who have each won TWO FREE TICKETS to one of our future concerts. We will be in touch with you soon!
