"The Queen of Harps ... Catrin Finch has done more than anyone in harp history to bring her instrument to a wider public ..."
---------- Classic FM Magazine (2004)

A programme full of French flavours makes a fitting start to Jean Thorel’s first concert as the CCOHK’s chief conductor. The featured soloist is Welsh harpist Catrin Finch who held the appointment of Royal Harpist to HRH the Prince of Wales from 2000 to 2004, reviving this ancient tradition last held in 1873. In addition to her years performing at the royal palaces and to royalty from around the world, Catrin Finch has performed with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, the London Mozart Players and James Galway. Her numerous awards include First Prize at the 1999 Lily Laskine International Harp Competition in France, the Marisa Robles Harp Prize at the 2004 Royal Overseas League Music Competition in London and the 2004 ECHO-Klassik Prize for "Best Crossover Artist".

For this performance Catrin Finch will perform on a Verde Princess Minerva harp made by SALVI, kindly provided by the Hong Kong Harp Services Limited.
